As part of their topic ‘Sticks, Stones and Bones’, Years 3 and 4 visited Butser Ancient Farm in Hampshire.
This valuable educational visit enhanced the children’s understanding of the Stone, Bronze and Iron Age and enabled them to make comparisons between then and now. The visit included a wide range of hands on activities including chalk carving, pottery, weaving and the chance to step into the role of archaeologist for the day. Some of the craft activities enabled children to bring home whatever they produced.
The trip helped to bring the past to life and provided the children with a memorable learning experience to enhance their understanding of their topic.
