KS2 singing at Chichester Cathedral

10th March 2017

We have been invited to participate in ‘Voices for Freedom’ a collaboration between Chichester Cathedral, West Sussex Music and local schools.

Following preparation in school, pupils will enjoy a very special afternoon of rehearsing and performance in Chichester Cathedral.  The children will be taken on a thought-provoking journey through sacred and secular music from different cultures, that explore the themes of Human Rights and Social Justice. The event includes an exciting opportunity to sing alongside the beautiful voices of the Chichester Cathedral Choristers.  We took part in a similar event last year which the children thoroughly enjoyed.

We will leave school at 11:30am and take the children by minibus to Chichester Cathedral.  On arrival, the children will have their lunch with the rehearsal starting at 1pm.  After the concert at approximately 4:30pm, the minibus will then return to school with an eta of 5:30pm.

We will be travelling to the cathedral by minibus and on arrival we will have lunch.

The children will give an informal concert at the end of the afternoon starting at 3:45pm.  You are very welcome to come and listen and at the end of the concert, take your child back with you.
