Sports at Upper Beeding

 SPORTS NEWS

Year 5 Rounders

For the first time in four years Upper Beeding were able to win the local area Rounders championship, children participated in a period of extensive training with Mr Jones and Miss Stuart and were ambassadors to the sport. It was particularly noticeable the sportsman ship both within the team and the encouragement and congratulations of the participating teams. The children are extremely proud of their win and are exciting to take part in next year’s tournament too.

Year 6 Rounders

This term 10 of our Year 6 children made up a truly magnificent Rounders team. Adults from other schools commented on how superbly they worked as a team, the encouragement and direction they gave each other and the fantastic sportsmanship shown by all. The team won all of their games, making them the tournament winners overall!

We are proud to say that this year we have been awarded a Sainsbury’s Gold Sports Mark Award.

This is an award to recognise our commitment to encouraging children and giving them the opportunities to participate in sports.
