Computing

Intent

Our children are growing up in a rapidly changing world where work and leisure activities are being transformed by the use of technology.

At Upper Beeding Primary School, our Computing curriculum aims to enable our children to develop their computational thinking and creativity skills to further understand our world. To operate in the 21st century, our children need to be equipped with the necessary Computing skills that enable them to become confident, creative and independent learners.

It is our intention at UBPS to enable our children to find, explore, analyse, exchange and present information. Technology is used to support learning across the entire curriculum, linked with our topics as much as possible, ensuring that our curriculum is accessible to every child. We aim to ensure that our children become digitally literate and develop their resilience, problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

Our children are provided with a breadth of experiences, enabling them to develop an understanding of themselves as individuals within their community, as well as members of a wider global community. By the time our children leave us in Year 6, we aim for them to leave as responsible digital citizens who are prepared for the next part of their learning journey and their future in our digital world.
